Always watched this game show on Lifetime TV and later on PAXTV. Anybody else a fan?

I always had fond memories of watching this show as a little kid, but I don't enjoy it that much on Buzzr. Was the PAX version particularly different? That would've been what I grew up on.

Right now, they're on the 1992 eps of the Lifetime episodes. Starting in 1993 the logo changed and David stopped wearing sweaters, which is the version I'm familiar with.

I always wondered if the perishables ("our huge cuts of meat", "giant cheese wheels", etc.) that were put into shopping carts are returned and reused. Further, if that's a real supermarket, do they sell that stuff?

I didn't see much of the episodes that aired on Lifetime, because when they aired I was usually either getting ready to go to work, or on my way there. But my late wife and I watched the Pax TV episodes every night, usually while eating dinner. The show was fun to watch, in a "turn your mind off" kind of way. Our neighbor and I actually applied to be on the show but weren't ever contacted.

Let me know if they ever pick up the 1960s version from ABC. That I would be interested in, if they even still exist.

We watch it sometimes. To me it’s as boring as the host’s personality.
(He played the guy Janet marries on the last episode of Three’s Company)

Yup, you beat me to it! They came to our Food Fair back in the early 60’s to shoot an episode!

The original version shot at various Supermarkets across America; the familiar 90's and 00's one shot at Hollywood Center Studios, and dressed up the soundstage into a makeshift Supermarket.
