I think there's a pretty easy culprit for a lot of the massive price increases I've seen across the board for these types of sets: COVID. You know, the thing that's been ruining all our lives for the last year and ravaging industries around the world...?

Not to say that prices weren't already climbing and I could easily see it being a sort of easy excuse, but considering how shutdown things got for a while, I'm frankly a little surprised we're getting these releases on-schedule etc.

I do think the higher price sucks, and the lack of extras for a lot of the albums is a bummer, especially since this set has some of my favourite TD in it...but this set has some of my favourite TD in it, and I think I'll really enjoy it, so the cost doesn't seem so dire to me. YMMV.

 

If the remastering quality of the first set is an indication this set will be ****ing great.

Cool. I ordered from JPC so I imagine it'll take a while to get here. Hoping it arrives before I leave for the holidays, though.

 

It is scheduled to make the trip to my place in 3 days from Scotland to Canada. With nowadays courrier delays, will see.

 

My JPC order still has an "open" status. From prior experience they do not appear to ship before the release date

 

I ordered through Groove Inc. Says their warehouse should have it on the 30th, then I guess shipping sometime after that.

 

Got my shipping notice from Burning Shed.

 

I actually got a notification from Fedex that the package has been picked up in Norfolk.

Unfortunately, my experience with Fedex this summer has been far worse than the USPS. Packages say "on the truck for delivery" and then disappear for a couple of days before they reappear in the tracking system (usually in some different town). Not exactly reassuring, but everything has shown up eventually.

 

I feel your pain. I think that I have had slightly better luck with FedEx. Our local USPS is abysmal. We have multiple postal delivery people and one specific deliverer doesn’t even bother to try delivering a package. He just leaves a slip. And my wife and I are both working from home, so it’s not like we are away.

It’s very frustrating.

 

LOL. I live in an apartment on the 4th floor with no elevator. USPS won't come to my door. Any time people use them I know to check the local sorting office a couple days after it was supposed to arrive. Just pathetic.

 

All perspective...

For me Fedex is horrible with Fedex Home being the worst. They just seem to leave the package at any address usually an hour away. I specifically will not order from anyone that uses them as result. USPS in my area is great, nary an issue.

 

I ordered it NOW on Italian amazon for 95 euro including mail!

 

Received a shipping notice from JPC this morning. My set is on its way!

 

Yes, mine has also left the JPC quarters.

I received the box today. Beautiful set. Sound is good on first listening.

 

Me as well, though I had to pop it into Google translate to clarify if it was actually a shipping notice and not something bad like a delay or cancellation notice.

 

Glad you got yours. Keep reporting on it for the rest of us while we wait. If the shipping time for the Richard and Linda Thompson box is any indication, it will be a while before I see mine.
