Tangerine Dream sound quality on early press CDs

    I found this CD lately in a used bins store, like you dunno if it's the correct set.
    On the other hand this set with the white tray looks nice, 'cause it matches the artwork pretty well.

    I have also the '95 remaster made by Simon Heyworth but the original UK is much better.

    There's the two Virgin years box sets, that give you all the albums from 1974's Phaedra to 1983's Hyperborea IIRC. Covers the "classic" period, and are quite reasonably priced.

    The stuff before that is way more experimental (I do like the droney Zeit, but not fond of the earlier material), and the stuff after that is patchy (although live album Poland from 1987 or 87 is worth picking up).

    How is the mastering on the Virgin Box Set? And what is the best way of obtaining everything from their early years? Is there any sort of "early years" box set or should I just go for the individual discs?

    Maybe this will be easier than I thought :)
