Target Vinyl Blowout

I’ve been to about 12-13 Targets now. Was on a road trip. Only one had them. But they did have the clearance sticker.

But I did find two Wings Across America for $11 each. That was new.

 

Gotta wait about 6 months to flip. Too many trying to recoup now.

what’s funny is when you buy it for $8 plus tax. So $9. Then sell it on eBay for $15 with free shipping. Shipping is $4 now. Plus the box. So you are down to $10. Then PayPal and eBay take their $3. So now you have $7?

I bought about 30’copies of Santana’s Greatest at $1 at Walmart two years ago. Just sat on them. Now you can get $25

 

Last night, I found a Target nearby that actually had the Let It Be with t-shirt...

 

I wonder if these are stolen LPs?

 

You think Target is selling stolen LPs? I think Bahloo2000 was referring to trying to resell the albums you buy on clearance at Target.

 

Went to Target with the kids to get back to school stuff. My kids like scanning things on the scanners, so when we walked by the vinyl section I had them ring up some stuff for fun. "Back in Black" was $10, Beatles "1" was around 24-25. Only thing I noticed is that a week ago those "Back in Blacks" were not in stock, so YMMV.

Sadly, a lot of people steal records (and everything else) especially from places like Target and Walmart to sell. So anything besides the Shipping cost is profit for them.

Just happened to pick up an order at the mall, and went to the Target next door after. Picked up a copy, don't have it in the collection on vinyl. 10 bucks, sure!

 

The target clearance is so weird one stoRe is full price another clearance

No more Target clearance sales in my area (northern NJ).

 

No more that I have seen in NorCal either, they had the let it be with shirt and combat rock in color vinyl but both were full ticket

seems crazy they'd mark that let it be back up , they could not unload them at $18 so out them back up in price ?

The Target on Friday had an end shelf full of clearance LPs. Also two Elton John Jewel 8-CD box sets ($60.99). I passed on the Elton John. (hope they drop the price)

 

I think the confusion is because some are conflating two separate things. They were running a sale of a handful (@30-40?) of titles for around 50% off. This included the Let It Be. That sale was supposed to have ended on 7/23. At the same time they also marked some number of titles (Gaga/Bennett, Plant/Krauss, etc.) as Clearance and seem to be looking to liquidate them entirely. They periodically do that. Those titles are all presumably still on clearance if you can find them in your store.

 

Yep. Gaga/Bennett was definitely still dirt cheap last night when I scanned it.

 

My local Target had a few titles with the yellow sticker, nothing I wanted (or had even heard of).

I carried the half-speed "Police Greatest hits" over to the price scanner. "$44.99". DAMN!

 

Did the same with the Police hahaha

It doesn’t appear that it ever got marked down, so hopefully next time.

Agreed, I paid $90 the year it came out, which was a steal at the time.

 

With the sale over and the clearance buzz tapering off, this current round of deals might be nearing an end. But for the clearance hunters out there, a few days ago I stumbled upon ABBA's Gold 2 LP (gold vinyl) for $11.99 on clearance. This title might be one to look out for.

I managed to get the Jewel Box in November of 2020 for $61.49 shipped from uDiscover which was pretty amazing back then. Worth getting at Target as you won't be likely to see a better price.

Then again, it can sit and another markdown could happen but for something like this, someone is likely to stumble upon it and snag it.

 

The mark this stuff down to sell, but it would help if they marked them. I don’t mind walking to the scanner, but others that don’t know about the clearance wouldn’t know to scan them.
