    will dds2 tapes work on a digital audio tape deck?

    I have dds1 tapes that work on my dat deck.will dds2 tapes work also? I looked all over the web and cannot find a yes are no A: :confused:

    Does someone here know if dds-2 (120 meter) carts work in dat recorders.If they do I will have 240 plus Min. of recording time at 48 or 44.1 khz.

    I read something at one point about DDS tapes in DAT decks- I believe there was at least one kind or length which wasn't to be used. The number '90' comes to mind now but I don't know whether it's minutes, meters, or what. I think it had to do with the tape being too thin or something. I'll post back if I find something on the 'net.

    You don't want to do that as the tape is VERY thin. Stick to std lengths for DAT (i.e. 120/135 mins or under).
