Isn't this from the early Hoffman photo sessions?
No - November 1962 - likely to be shot in Reinhard Wolf's Hamburg studio, where Astrid was his assistant.
What, you didn't like my Victor Spinetti story? I'll repeat it! In 1981 at the Beatles Convention at the Adelphi in Liverpool, Vic was guest of honour and we got chatting. He said "You're a great talker, I've got to go now, but I'm going to have dinner with a couple of friends, will you join us?" I demurred (for *ahem* various reasons). Twenty minutes later as I left the venue, I heard shouting. Looking in that direction, who should I see but Victor leaning out of a car window hurtling past me, cheerfully waving, with his two friends also cheerfully waving... Paul and Linda McCartney.
So this was 1957! The same year Elvis released "Jailhouse Rock". The Beatles really were there near the beginning.
The top left picture should have been one of his album covers.
Totally cool photo. The Nurk Twins!
Pete's looking a bit unwell. It appears to be the same venue as in Arnie's post. A bit seasick perhaps?
57? Did it come with a date? I would have guessed 58/59.
Poor Ringo. Glad he soon had a right arm attached otherwise no drums and no Beatles. Lucky Ringo.
He looks unwell because John has just said : " If you don't get any better on those fookin' drums we're getting Ringo in.. "
That is Cynthia with dark hair on the end. Not sure if anyone pointed her out yet. She dyed her hair later.
There are a surprising number of photos I've not seen before in this thread! Cheers!
I have several original photos of the band that don’t circulate and haven’t yet been immortalized on the internet. My kids can change that some day when they belong to them if they wish
Does anyone know where these were taken?
Show us one!
The McCartney home on Forthlin Road.
Teddy Boy Ringo.
John and Nigel Walley in Liverpool...
Paul and, I think, Jurgen Vollmer in Paris...
same trip, 1961?
Charter member of the ‘Socks and Sandals Brigade’!!
There was that bunch of photos in Gambier Terrace when John and Stu were students, circa 1960, thought for a moment that other one with the fireplace might've been from that but defintiely not.
John, back to camera...
Some of John and Cynthia at the site below when she had dark hair and he was rarely wearing his specs.
