So dissapointed this is not getting a US release.

My kids have been wanting to see this on the big screen and so have I.

There is lots of time to schedule in a summer's week of showings in the USA. It makes no sense (to me at least) to announce this in January.

I like your optimism. I question why they'd announce UK dates if they were planning on US dates as well. To your point this seems very premature.

I really don't know why they even had to announce UK theatre showing now. If they announced these July shows in May or even early June would be more than adequate. I guess someone wants to grab the money now and make some interest on the principal.

It was announced on the 15th January in the UK press. This is officially the most depressing day of the year. The blue meanie day. This is the reason why...

Why July the 8th? Why not December the 8th? It can go head-to-head against the next Star Wars movie. The current one is so bad, and if the next one is anything like it, Yellow Sudmarine would have no competion at all.

50th Anniversary of the UK release.

The 50th anniversary of the US release won’t be until Jan 2019 .. could this hit US theat’er’s then?

Oh yeah I forgot adults weren't allowed to watch films made for children.

Almost made a fool of myself there.

I think it's safe to say that for reasons that should be obvious we will never see anything Beatles-related released on December 8th.

But Yellow Submarine re-released to theaters? Cool, I'm in, and so's my four year old!

It's a cartoon and the Beatles aren't in it – I've never watched it and probably never will.

Saw it in a theater in 1968. Well worth a second viewing.
And the "Hey Bulldog" extra at the end is so fine. That really stuck in my head as we left the theater.

Of course seeing it now would be a totally different experience then as an idealist 17-year old. I hope some idealist 17-years olds will enjoy it now, as much as I did then.

Wouldn't Subway or Quizno's be more appropriate?

Watched the Blu ray in 5.1 with one of my daughters (she's 7) a few weeks ago and she absolutely loved everything about it.

But if you had seen the film, you would know by now that the Beatles are indeed in it at the very end:

Ever notice that Apple doesn't exactly have its act together?;) It'll happen in the U.S./North America, the market's too big to omit.
