Is it just me, or did anyone else buy 5+ copies of this LP as each one was burned through? I swear to God. Must have been closer to 10 by the time I delved deep into the half price bin. And that was about US $1.99...
This was one of the first "weird" records I ever bought. Has a special sentimental place because of that. I only bought it once, though. Love the cover art!
love this! it takes me back all the way back to when alice cooper was still figuring out whose act he could steal the horns bits are just icing on the cake.
The God of Hell Fire! Between this and Thunderclap Newman, I was pretty well convinced that Pete Townshend was a genius. And that's not even counting Pictures of Lily....
I actually did, at a nightclub north of Buffalo NY. It was an all ages show (the club usually required 18+) because the promoter was worried it wouldn't sell out, and had no clue how crazy Brown could be.
Been there! LOL! Kudos to you! what an awesome experience! What a great/extraordinary experience for a young music fan!
Constantly played this album through the 70s and early 80s, then found a mono copy and was blown away... side one felt like a whole new (half) album to fall in love with.
the god of hell fire and something's in the air? now we just need some rare earth and ol' black water.
Being an Arthur Brown junkie, I"d like to know where you got the mono versions. And, of course where I might also. I Need my fix!
Never got into the LP. But the moment I heard “Fire” for the first time on AM radio I raced to Sam Goody’s and picked up the 45. One of my 60s treasures.
