I started watching this a few weeks ago and have just finished up season 2. It keeps getting more engrossing as I continue watching. Shohreh Aghdashloo is the absolute star of the show, she’s so good in this.

If you enjoy the series definitely check out the books - as an added bonus there's quite a few to get your teeth into

I need to catch up on S3. The problem is, this thing has been gone so long I cannot remember a lot of the plot lines from the previous seasons.

Man I despised Murtry. I mean, you’re supposed to. Good casting - he’ll bring Adolphus Murtry to life.

How are they going to work in Havlock, though? Didn’t the TV show kill him off in the first season on Ceres station? It’s been a few years since I saw the first season, so I may be fuzzy there. Probably just make him Havlock’s brother or something.

Not a book spoiler, per se. Just a detail question between S1 and the soon to be S4. That said, I get your point. Many appolgies.

Havlock is not dead, he survived the attack in season 1.

And that is NOT a spoiler.

Cool, thanks. It's been a few years since I watched it, (and read them).

Seriously, three years ago it could have been called a spoiler...nowadays it could be called a "fast recap".

Looked into this series as a result of this thread and am hooked, currently midway through the second season.

I watched the first season, but begged off Season Two. I thought the story was too derivative and the characters boilerplate: calling them "one-dimensional" would be giving the screenwriters too much credit. And the Earth story moved at a glacial pace.

The sets and effects were first-rate, so it did make for good eye candy. But like a lot of tentpole series in this alleged Golden Age Of Television, it's a two or three hour movie padded out to eight or ten hours.

I can’t seem to get back in gear for this. I think I’m out after 2 seasons and a few of the third. I’m just tired of it.

I nearly completely bailed after Season 1, having the same problem you do with the story and characters. (I actually also thought the sets and the "colorizing" were drawbacks.)

The second season was better though, and the third better still as far as story and the characters that were established at least were moving forward and the newer characters I liked better.

I will watch the next season.

I can't wait for the new season to start. It's the best serious scifi show currently in production.

Not being a book reader, I initially found S1 a little hard to get into because we were confronted with many characters in different settings, with different factions and alliances. It was a lot to assimilate, especially on a weekly release schedule. But by the end of S1, everything started to click and after it was over, I binge watched the entire season, now with the knowledge of the characters and the settings. It made such a difference doing that and I haven't looked back. Really is a great show with great characters.

I really like how the Universe is developed, it’s just interesting

Well, Miller is long gone so you don’t have to worry about him anymore.

    I don’t really have a favorite character.
