The conspiracy apparently started much earlier than suspected.

I’m now imagining the night of 1/25/69 and each night thereafter for the next twenty four or so years, “that firing shoulda took”. I keed, I keed.

Luckily for Weir (and us, I suppose), they just weren't particularly efficient in their executions of intent. As a rule, I'd say.

    The 1969 mix is brilliant.

Listened to '71. Probably will again, before advancing. Need reference point before '69.

    (I'm a weirdo, perhaps.)

Try this: Listen to the 1969 mix of What's Become of the Baby?; then Late For Supper from Garcia's first solo album: then Seastones (the album, or a live cut). It's one of the threads that runs through the GD's music.

I'll give it a try. But only because I have a degree of faith in your opinions.

I would love to have seen Joe Smith's face the first (and probably only time) he had to sit through WBotB? And he thought he had problems on his hands with Anthem...

Does the booklet mentions the recording dates of the album studio tracks?

I’m excited to get HQ recordings from the 1/24, 1/25, & 1/26 shows, but we really need these shows released in their entirety. Some of my all-time favorites.

I'd be glad to hear it, but I doubt it will happen - recording problems, erased multitracks.

Yeah? I mean. They chose the choicest tracks to compile here - it seems strategic. Makes me think they may have the rest.

The 2-tracks sources from Jan 24 thru 26 circulate complete from SBD master reels in the trading bardo.

I personally prefer my dynamic range intact, I guess others will have to decide for themselves what they prefer.

Was the '71 mix newly remastered or recycled from its HDTracks remaster from a few years ago?

It doesn't look like the same remastering based on looking at the 2013 here HDTracks Dead DR? and then the 24/96 of the 50th '71 mix here The Grateful Dead - Aoxomoxoa 50th Anniversary Details I think these are getting transferred and Plangented again as well from what I can gather.

why oh why can't we get this and Anthem in surround?

The nature of both mixes make a surround mix nearly impossible, and impractical. Additionally, there is no telling if the master multitrack tapes for Aoxomoxoa still exist.

For a week I've been seeing this message on the USPS website when using my tracking number for a Dead.net order I made for the Aoxomoxoa 50th release and a T-shirt - 06/10/2019 8:00 P.M. Edgewood, NY, United States Package transferred to post office and have no idea what's going on  I just sent them an email via their online form and hopefully I'll find out what's occurring...

    |Next time I'll be using Amazon for Grateful Dead releases, least that way I'll get them on release day!

But it’s not necessary. The numbers from (and sound of) the Prof Stoned needledrop indicate that it’s already not a very dynamic mix. Why even add that extra step of processing?

Yeah the multitracks are probably long gone.

If they were still around, a Steven Wilson remix would be fun!

I've always though it was a daring ('69 mix) and beautiful ('71 mix) piece.
