Shoddy propaganda. From the same people who brought you fluoridated water, above ground nuclear testing, and the denial of UFO's. :ignore:

Well I retagged everything "GD19xx." I'm glad that's over with, there's no room on the card for more anyway.

Somehow I wound up with 1967-1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975-1976, 1977-1978, 1979-1980, 1981-1985, 1986-1990, and 1991-1995. I can't say there was much thought behind any of it. When I get a new card some of those eras will have to migrate, and some of the larger categories will get kind of bloated, but nothing like when it was all "Grateful Dead." I currently have a ton of 1972, 1973, and 1974, so those had to be the standalones...

Phil's bass around 15-18 min into Dark Star is maybe the prototype for nordic doom metal.(I don't know actually, don't trust me)

And..... if that was not enough.. - Phil continues to wreak havoc for the next ten minutes or so.
    Enjoy the ride!

Was playing the acoustic set from DiP 8...wow. Regardless how many times I have heard it it still manages to amaze me. Jerry's vocals are gorgeous.
The vinyl has all the chatter inbetween songs, along with the electric CR&S.

Should I be playing the electric set on ny mono table?

First for me was 12/31/85 set II taped myself off of the radio broadcast, followed by 10/31/83 Marin Civic Set II. After that it was off to the races.

Nah. The Beatles invented Nordic Doom Metal.

    (I'm sure there's a thread here somewhere...)

My first tape was a chopped up mishmash of 4/28 and 4/29/71. 8/13/75 was an early one and my first show 6/4/78 I got from the taper a few months afterwards.

I have Grateful Dead and Grateful Dead - Studio as my artist titles. I then name every release "1977/10/29 DeKalb, IL Dave's Picks 33", for example. Then I can search a year "1973" or even a decade "198" will give me all the 80s. Lets me easily navigate. I have a few playlists too (1967-1970, 71-74 etc) but Ive rarely used those.

I haven't been listening to much Grateful Dead lately, tonight I've been listening to the Rage Against the Machine.

And also this, which I didn't know existed, in spite of many searches for 'grateful dead covers'

that entire album is fantastic, I love how his voice took on this Ralph Stanley vibe in the last few years, what a treat it was to live so close to his studios to have visited a couple times

I was reading a lengthy interview with Ned Lagin and David Gans, and Ned talked about playing on stage with the Dead. He talked about the ‘74 Alexandra Palace shows, and mentioned the unreleased second set of 9/11/74. Fantastic half-hour Seastones with the whole band>Eyes>Wharf Rat. Jerry was so “amused” by Ned’s playing that you can hear him belly-laughing with Ned for quite some time between Wharf Rat and Around & Around. Fortunately most of the second set circulates in great SQ. Check it out!
