Great music but the slice and dice to configure the bonus disc is somewhere between unfortunate and inexcusable.
Yeah, it is a pain. I made my own playlist of each show so it flows a lot better, as nature intended. The bonus disc thing is such a rort. They should have just released the whole shebang over the 4 CDs instead of the slicing and dicing. One and done.
I did the same, including the missing Candyman from Wolfgang's Vault. I really am not a fan of the rigid formatting constraints of Dave's Picks. I'd much rather an annual subscription consist of a total number of discs, with the quarterly releases configured to best fit the music.

Not again 5/21 or 21/5 This time it was a 74 premonition in 73 Ghost note perhaps? Hey, they are in the same box set
The early show electric set is phenomenal. And at the end of the evening, acoustic GD, NRPS, electric GD all x2, they finish with a beautiful, acoustic Cold Jordan. Perfect Encore.
This is one I only got around to picking up relatively recently, but I do recall you actually recommending it to me about a year ago after I posted about how much I was enjoying DiP 8. As far as the acoustic material goes, I think I actually prefer the Road Trips release! Electric might get tipped to DiP though. Either way, two fantastic and essential sibling releases.
That Harpur College "Other One" bass riff was my first real Phil Bomb and it's still blows me away when I hear it now. Might still be my gold standard for that track. (PS: do the stars have DaP42 in our future for the week ahead?)
