FOREST FLOWER - CHARLES LLOYD AT MONTEREY (Atlantic) CD - 24-bit remaster
Recorded live at the Monterey Jazz Festival, 1966.

Prior to getting a copy of this 5 track album - which was delivered yesterday - this was the only Charles Lloyd Atlantic album I hadn't heard before. It was great to eventually get to hear the two Charles Lloyd compositions - 'Forest Flower - Sunrise' & 'Forest Flower - Sunset' as well as Keith Jarrett's 'Sorcery' & Cecil McBee's 'Song Of Her'. Sections of the 10 minute plus version of Brooks Bowman's 'East Of The Sun' are a bit more of a challenging listen and may take a bit more "getting into".

All very first pressings - call me nuts, but that's how I limit my purchases (not the only reason, of course, there are many). I don't like to buy too many records at once, because I know I won't listen to them as much as I should. I traded in at least 50 records this year to make sure I only have records I really want in my possession. Having a certain budget and buying only so much records per month gives me enough time to appreciate every LP and revisit some older LPs also.

ALL MILES THE PRESTIGE ALBUMS - MILES DAVIS - (Prestige/OJC) 14CD Box

Once I started dipping into this box the other day the desire to listen to all the albums again (in chronological order of course) took hold.

The discs/mastering is fine but the clunky fat boy style packaging is poor. The discs do not have individual sleeves and the actual box itself is made from very thin cardboard which is about as thick as what you would get for cereals packaging.
