If online counts, on YouTube I played “Ou Est Le Soleil” a few times a couple of weeks ago. As far as real vinyl goes, my turntable hasn’t been set up for a long time, and thinking about my vinyl collection, which i still have other than my Bryan Ferry and Cult albums that were stolen in the early 90s, probably either Genius of Love by Tom Tom Club or The Reflex by Duran Duran. Those were the only two 12” singles i ever had as far as i can remember.
Thompson Twins-You Take Me Up (Kervorkian High Plains), 1984 UK @45 B1-Instrumental B2-Passion Planet
Tears for Fears-Pale Shelter (You Don't Give Me Love), 1982/1985 using the Howlett mixes A-Extended B1-Pale Shelter B2-The Prisoner
I miss the days when remixes had clever names LOL. Playing this “Warne Out” version now. Julian Cope - Trampolene https://youtu.be/V3y525DVzxY
OMD-Secret 88 US @45 A1-New 12" Remix A2-New 7" Remix B1-Old 12" Remix B2-Telegragh Live (Hammersmith 83)
Peter Schilling-Hitze Der Nacht (Special Remix), 1984 Germany Alsdorf @ 45 B1-120 Grad Sucks a US language with mixes never happened (Chill of The Night), great tune
thanks for your support c-eling & zither! just reliving (to me) better days of original music sometimes, in my mid-50s, i wake up to a song on my mind, that i had on a 45rpm 12" and/or heard on CFNY, that i haven't thought of for 35 or so years
played my high school back in the day, local CanCon talent, probably already posted this on the thread, not in 2021 though
I got hooked back in 85 when my local station played the 12 inch of Howard Jones-Things Can Only Get Better. Been a sucker for them since
excellent, CFNY was my Toronto-area centre for New Wave and Sythn and extended mixes from 1980 to when i joined the working world in 1994. i think it started as a heavy metal station in the late 70s? my home town was a wiped-out factory crater and this music helped me get through those times and use my talents creatively, might not have made it without this in my life . it still is alternative, and it didn't hold onto any of the vinyl that made it famous in the early 80s
Picked this up last night. I don't remember this song being played locally. Saw Baker's name on the rear Naked Eyes-(What) In The Name of Love, 1984 US @33 A1-Extended Version B1-Instrumental- this is more of a dub as there are vocals scattered throughout B2-Single Version
