I was actually looking at that 12 a few years ago, but couldn't figure out if it was actually a remix/album or the single edit.
I just looked (because I was curious too!) and it is a remix. It’s definitely a longer version - over 6 minutes - than what I’ve seen. The b-sides are a track called “Miracle” from the album, and a live version of Rock and Roll Over You.
Excellent, thanks! I have the old CD-V single and it contains the radio edit, a few album tunes but no live track. I'll try and track one down
I was never hugely inspired by many 12" singles... Frankie Goes to Hollywood were interesting, but early New Order were the masters of the format for me.
Soft Cell's were great too, but generally I don't find 12" remixes or extended versions inspiring too. The sound quality on 12"s is usually incredible though. I like having the regular 7" version pressed on 12" sometimes just because of that.
I think the stutter became way too popular and almost instantly clique. I may need to check out Soft Cell, I always liked Tainted Love, but to be honest, it's all I know from them.
Check out Bedsitter, Say Hello Wave Goodbye and Torch. Their next three singles and all massive UK hits.
Why do they do that! I've been really happy with the latest NO 12" releases. The die cut & embossed sleeves are top quality.
Time constraints for the formats is my guess Zither. The LP carries the full length Kiss, but still uses the edit of Shell.
Good luck! I found this one in the wild (in the US) and wasn’t looking for it at all, but I’m a sucker for 12” singles by bands I like.
