NEIGHBORS (the new one) - Crude, mean-spirited and fairly unfunny for me. Nobody to root for in this one, really. Parents who leave their baby alone in the house
so they can do drugs at the frat house next door aren't people I'm gonna put too much support behind for the rest of the film.

EDGE OF TOMORROW - Pretty fun. Basically GROUNDHOG DAY in the Sci-Fi realm, moves right along and is funnier (at times) than I expected it to be. Could have
done with a bit less shaky-cam in the battle scenes, but overall a fun matinee. The 3D was noticeable at times, which is more than I can say for a lot of 3D films I say. Didn't
add a tremendous amount to the experience, but cool when I noticed it.

Was this film originally shot in a wide screen format? The version I have has this weird type of camera pan during certain scenes.

    Vidiot?

    A Cinemascope film in 4:3 ????? WTF ??? Amazon Instant Video : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00COMV060/ref=atv_feed_catalog?tag=imdb-amazonvideo-20

" Sony provides a decent, fullscreen (1.33:1) picture here, but during the opening we see the film was originally presented in CinemaScope, and this is made entirely obvious early on as a number of the opening credits are cut off. Subsequently, the pan and scan effort given to the rest of the film is painfully apparent as this release features some really awkward, stilted panning throughout. "

Saw Edge of Tomorrow in 2-D.

Really liked it. Doug Liman knows how to make a good movie.

    Homefront.
Yes, Hollywierd screwed this one up as well. (just as they did with Joseph Finder's "Paranoia").

The book by Chuck Logan is so much better.
If fact, read "After The Rain' and the sequel "Homefront" together; a great ride.

JODOROWSKY'S DUNE - Definitely worth seeing if you're a fan of 70s sci-fi and fantasy. Doc about art film
director Alexandro Jodorowsky and his attempt to film DUNE in the mid-70s, with an all-star production team.
Funny, sad, and inspiring, with lots of great imagery.

ADJUST YOUR TRACKING - Documentary about modern VHS enthusiasts was a fun reminder of the heyday of the video
store, as well as depicting the tape-collecting subculture with a non-judgmental eye. Probably of interest more to horror and
cult movie fans, I found it a lot of fun, and saw a lot to identify with in the opinions and stories of the interviewees.

INVASION OF THE SCREAM QUEENS - Early 90s documentary about then-current B-movie actresses is little more than a
collection of talking-head interviews, interspersed with a few clips of their work. Feels like a rough cut more than a polished
product, and the screener I saw (this and the above are getting a DVD release this week) was sourced from VHS, with accompanying
audio buzzes here and there, which either adds to the sense of being back in the early 90s or just makes a somewhat flat program
that much more lackluster, depending on your predilections. Fans of early 90s B-movies and USA UP ALL NIGHT will probably
get the most out of this, as a lot of the actresses featured were unknown to me. Watching this, I thought a "Where Are They Now"
featurette, interviewing the subjects 20 years later, would have made the package more interesting.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 2 - Never saw the first one, but that didn't stop me from really enjoying this sequel. Cool production
design, epic battles, good use of 3D and for me, a better giant monster movie than the recent GODZILLA.

Agree that How to Train Your Dragon is a great one - one of my favorite animated films of the last few years. We're going to see HTTYD2 later today.
