I adore this show. Didn't discover it til this year but it was one of my favorite watches of the year.
Just finished the Unbelievable mini-series on Netflix. Very good and unfortunately all too believable. Great acting across the board. Prior to that, Vinyl on HBO. Worth watching but highly problematic as far too much screen time is given to really poorly imitated '70s rock acts. Bobby Cannavale and Ray Romano are solid. About to start the sixth season of Blacklist, which recently arrived on Netflix. This one's also problematic, where the problems include the writing and the acting of pretty much everyone except James Spader. But Spader's good, and I made it this far, so may as well continue.
Deep Water. Three couples, from different classes, have a drunken party leading to one of their daughters disappearing. Turns into a soap opera really fast. Totally unbelievable by episode four.
Poldark (season 5) there's so much happening in this season that you need a score card. Should have spread the action over two years.
Last night finished Season 3 of Humans 10/10 One of Best Shows I've viewed, certainly in the last 10 years; possibly ever. Riveting. Underneath the sci-fi is sociological element. Fascinating & deeply affecting. All Seasons Great, but 1 & 3 superior. Spectacular storyline, writing & acting. Trifecta! "...the series explores the themes of artificial intelligence and robotics, focusing on the social, cultural, and psychological impact of the invention of anthropomorphic robots called "synths". The series is produced jointly by AMC in the United States, and Channel 4 and Kudos in the United Kingdom."
GLOW S3 E3. After a slow season 1 this show really took off in S2. The first 3 episodes of S3 are great, too.
Yes, that is what we liked about Poldark. Each episode moves the story along swiftly, unlike the majority of series which tend to pad events out too much. It's all to do with the fact that it's taken from the novels I suppose (never read them).
Just watched the first episode of Criminal: United Kingdom on Netflix. Very good show so far, focused entirely on police interviews of suspects. The first episode features David Tennant, Lee Ingleby, and several other actors I recognized but can't name offhand. There are three episodes in the UK, and three episodes in each of France, Spain, and Germany.
Halfway though: What/If Starring Renee Zellweger Suspense Drama - Oooh; so very good..juicy! Entire Cast = Excellent Performances. Intriguing/Riveting! 10/10
Started watching 'Unbelievable' this weekend, 4 episodes in, pretty good. Can't find any threads about it here.
