This just started streaming on Amazon two days ago. I’ve seen the first two episodes and will probably watch at least one more. I think that it’s basically an allegory on growing up female in the United States, and the action-adventure component is secondary given often painful (to me) liberties that they take with unrealistic portrayal of being marooned on an island. We’ll see if it turns into a modern day Lord Of The Flies.
The Queens Gambit. Excellent show even though I don't know a thing about chess. Plus, it had 2 Monkees references!
Brothers And Sisters Family drama w/ensemble cast: Sally Field, Calista Flockhart, Dave Annable, Balthazar Getty, Rachel Griffiths, Rob Lowe, Emily Van Camp... Season 3, Episode #19 "Spring Getaway" IMDb very brief synopsis: "Kevin and Justin take Tommy on a getaway."
The Undoing-HBO. didn't love it and the ending was a disappointment IMO but it was a decent diversion. different role for Grant that's for sure.
I highly recommend watching the whole thing. I loved this series. I won’t say anymore. Like the 2008 thriller “A Perfect Getaway,” also taking place in Hawaii, it’s best to watch without knowing anything. My only complaint is an unrealistic underwater snorkelling scene lol.
Actually The Wilds was filmed in New Zealand. The location looks nothing like Hawaii, other than the ocean and some rocks.
this has been the worse TV year for a very long time - i know it's a covid-19 effect but still, any year that has something as mediocre as Queen's Gambit on its top picks is bound to be a shi.tty year - so i went back to rewatching one of the funniest shows ever Married with Children - Al Bundy is a God amongst men.
If I ever get around to buying that, I hope I have better luck with the Blu-Rays, because the DVDs were nothing but trouble for me. A few episodes would play perfectly, and then all of a sudden the next episode would freeze up and then jump ahead, and reversing it wouldn't do anything but have the same issue happen again. I even exchanged the first set I bought, thinking maybe it was just a defect with the season one from my first complete series, but it happened on the replacement too. I gave up trying to watch them. Are the Blu-Rays playing well for you (as in glitch free)?
Aquarius (season one) Silly series about a Joker-like Charles Manson and the guy from the X Files as a cop who breaks all the rules. Lots of unnecessary subplots so they can drag it out even longer. Sounds like I don't like it but I'm prepared to watch the whole thing with an open mind.
