Mission: Impossible - "The Execution" Season 3 episode 5. Originally aired November 10, 1968. One of, if not the, darkest episodes of the series. One of Mission’s most powerful breaks, “The Execution” time warps a hired assassin to his last hours on death row to convince him to testify against his mob employer. Written by Woodfield and Balter, this unforgettable “Big Store” ruse depicts – and savagely critiques – the inhumane rituals of the death penalty, a point hammered home by Martin Landau’s amazing breakdown as the villain’s unfortunate cellmate. Add terrific performances, despicable villainy, and a cleverly averted assassination, and the result is a classic.
I thought it was great! It will improve and from what I gather from the geek reviews on YouTube it'll open a whole chapter for the next generation of Marvel movies. For example (contains spoilers):
This was powerful stuff. I need to pick up with Mission Impossible again; I reached the end of the Cinnamon/Rollin years, and now things will probably feel a whole lot different. EG.
Only Fools & Horses - "Ashes to Ashes" (S2 E2) About 10 episodes in, with my total rewatch from the very start, and this is an all-out classic. Tons of laugh out louds moment, brilliant comedy acting and classic writing. "Arthur's Ashes? Wasn't he the fella that won Wimbledon?" EG.
WandaVision first two episodes. So far really good, with none of the dumbness of the superhero movies so far. Nice to see Buffy’s Emma Caulfield in the second episode, too.
Watched The Rookie. His Mother came to visit. How does he afford such a nice house in LA on a policeman's salary.
We Got This (2020) An American living in Sweden owes the tax man so much money he decides to solve a murder in the hope of getting the 5 million Cr reward. The best (and wildest) show since season one of Killing Eve. Incredible soundtrack seems to be based on Pastoral Prog (one of the main villains is called Van der Graaf!!)
Since Friday have watched the first six episodes of season 1 of Dirty John. Started off good, love the scenery both San Diego and the actresses. It has devolved a bit, sort of a cartoonish Horror story now regarding the title character, but still not bad. 2 to go to complete first season.
