My wife and I made it through the first episode of "Sex Education" until the point that the young man stands on a cafeteria table and displays his massive manhood to the horrified students, then we turned it off and deleted it from our watch list. That was just beyond stupid and preposterous. The show could have dealt with the subject matter (in general, not just that scene) in a more realistic and less brainless fashion with some witty dialogue, but instead they make everything ludicrous and over the top.
I just finished up episode 5 last night. I actually think it's getting better. While there's still in-your-face nudity and sex they do make an attempt to also tackle various social issues such as the pitfalls of social media, abortion, LBGTQ, and violence against gays. There seems to be more to this show than just gratuitous T&A, though I do understand why this show may not be for everybody. YMMV.
You're the Worst (season 5 episode 2) Standard sit com plot (the main characters want to get married in a registry office, their friends want a big wedding) is subverted by so much gross-out humour (including one bit that must be a first outside pornography) that the episode sort of worked in it's own terminology. According to the producers this season is all about commitment
Got Diners Drive In & Dives on now. Like the concept by tired of the Guy F 50 year old frat boy hey everybody I’m so cool schtick
You're the Worst (season 5 episode 4). Remember College by Buster Keaton when he gets the girl and there's a desolve and the two of them grow older until they're tombstones. Well the final shot of this episode is like that. Jimmy gets a royalty cheque for $700,000 and everyone around him reacts to his newfound riches.
Watched all of Firefly over the last three days. I am home bound with whooping cough so I have been watching a lot of TV. I have decided to start Supernatural for the first time and watched the first four episodes of season one. With 14 seasons so far I have a ways to go.
Started watching True Detective (season 2) but I fell asleep after the second episode. Can't make up my mind whether to go back to it.
Watched the last episodes of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Very good ending to a fave. Going to miss it. I binged The Kominski Method. Also very good. Didn't think I'd like it as much as I did.
The Cry (2018) Jenna Coleman stars as a Scottish woman who's baby disappears in Australia. The first episode takes non-linear film-making to absurd extremes. The second episode is much better.
The Sopranos, Season 3, EP. 11, The Pine Barrens Classic episode that I rewatch when laid out with some ailment. Always fun.
