    The CDT Zero i believe uses the Philips L1210 mechanism which is good. It was used in Sim Audio and Bryston players but when Philips stopped making them Audio Note bought thousands of them forcing Bryston and Sim Audio to stop making CD players for a time.

    And even this mechanism isn't high end. As noted before, a truly good transport will either be one using the CEC belt drive or the Philips Pro 2 amd that is basically your choices if you want something that is likely to make a significant improvement over your CD2.

    Audio Notes CDT 1.1 is one of the least expensive transports using the Philips Pro2LF mechanism. AN bought a ton of them. Thr other affordable one is the Opera Consonance Droplet but only somr machines have the mechanisms. And it's not a drdicated transport but it looks awesome. Grant Gidelity sells Opera.

    I have been sacing for the CDT Two/II but the 1.1 may make more financial sense at $2000 less or so.
