The Musical Box Genesis covers band

One of the best live shows I have seen. Kudos to the use of the Moog Taurus pedal. Definitely worth the drive up to Beverly Hills from San Diego.

 

Saw them last night in NYC and it exceeded expectations: absolutely spectacular. The hundreds of slides from the original tour projected behind the band were a fantastic low-tech touch and obviously the ones taken in the city during the early 70s were like a childhood picture book for fans from the region.

I gained a new appreciation for Rutherford's bass bits.

 

I saw them last year and they were absolutely fantastic.

The comment loudly made by one gentlemen in the men’s room afterwards summed up both the brilliance of the original songwriters and the fantastic on-stage creation of the music by the band: “They don’t make music like that anymore, fellas”.

 

Too bad it looks as if The Musical Box have given up on playing Australia. They are probably the only tribute band for whom I would consider flying to see them perform.

 

I saw Musical Box last night at the Wilbur Theater in Boston. It was an amazing show! They did The Lamb in it's entirety and then Musical Box and Watcher of the Skies as an encore. I've seen a number of tribute bands over the years but Musical Box is the best without question!
