Well, it's a hate thread and a Beatles thread and also a
we've-done-this-to-death thread, all wrapped up in one!

Panem et circenses, from the ringmaster himself.

I don't really hate the Beatles songs I skip, I just don't want to hear them at that particular moment.

But to show you where everyone differs, I generally skip Hey Jude. It is a great 2 minute song stretched out to 7 minutes.
Na na na na na na. Hey Jude. (Yes I counted out the Nas)

Maybe it really should be "Hey Dude" (see the movie Yesterday for that reference).

Also to show where we all differ, with the exception of the last two cuts, the White Album is super duper in my book. They kind of let their hair down. Ringo says he likes it more than Pepper, so who are we to argue?

But she had a pain at the party...

The funny thing about most of the Anthology rarities is that they were really interesting when they could only be found on bootlegs. Once they became official it was easier to diss on them. Like most bands, the extras are often truly bottom of the barrel. I mean really, how often do we really groove on the extras?

When I Get Home is the first one to come to my mind. A Hard Day's Night is a great album, but I've always thought When I Get Home is on the lumbering, anti-climatic side compared to the rest IMO.

This thread is starting to get silly. A bit like the argument clinic in Monty Python.

I think all right thinking people are wrong.

But Come Together, I Am the Walrus, and Lucy? Three of the very best right there.....

Just counted out how many in that particular segment, not the whole song of course.

I find “I Want To Tell You” plodding, tedious and grating.

Love the harmonies in the outro, however.

The Beatles had a great sense of what were the better tracks and what to archive. There are artists such as Bob Dylan or the Who that leave better material in the archive because it did not fit in the theme/mood of the album.

Won't even call it a song, it's studio banter.
