I think you're reading that wrong, although it could be clearer. Those items are part of the Majik package, but could be purchased separately by someone looking to upgrade another table. (Note that the same format is used with the Akurate and Klimax descriptions.)
Noticed some pics has disappeared. These are my current turntables VPI TNT 5 SME V Koetsu Urushi (Vendetta SCP2-C phono) Sota Comos SME V Lyra Clavis (CJ Premier 15 phono) Roksan 5 Nima arm, Goldring Eroica LX (Classe DR7 pre)
Yes, you don't see them that often but they are very good. In fact the best I have heard except for the Vendetta.
I used a c-j P15 for 17 years, traded it in for a c-j TEA S3. If you can find a P15 in good shape my advise is buy it.
Mine is a vintage gold Urushi made by Sugano-san before his passing in 2002. It dates from c. 1990, and was made prior to the various sub-flavours of the Urushi gold being created.
Got a new turntable to replace my Pioneer PL-630 which my wife will now use in the spare room. Michell Gyro SE, Audiomods Series 6 tonearm, Nagaoka MP500 and a Darlington Labs MP-7 Phono pre.
It's all still very new but so far no complaints. When reading up on the arm it was mentioned that it was very neutral and doesn't get in the way of the cart which I like. It's beautifully made and came with a bunch of extras.
I just brought this second-hand, my third turntable in the house. It's actually in the repair shop getting the old 5-pin plug changed over for RCA inputs. Any thoughts on this old Dual 621? I don't know a hell of a lot about them, I just couldn't resist the full-auto functions as my other turntables are semi-auto and manual. It's in very good condition also..
i don't know anything about this deck, but this link might be helpful: Dual 621 2-Speed Automatic Direct-Drive Turntable Manual | Vinyl Engine re: your manual turntable, this is a most excellent device, perhaps not as stylish as some of the more expensive units, but it works like a charm: THE Q UP - Automatic tonearm lifter for manual turntables and tonearms - thorens q-up audio technica AT6006a typically available for anywhere from ~$32-$50. doug s.
Good purchase. Most of the Dual tables I see around seem to be belt or idler rather than DD. I'd quite happily pick up a Dual DD as they're supposed to be really good. In fact AFAIK they actually beat the Japanese to the punch on coreless motors which is pretty impressive, when you think about it.
Yep, being a direct drive was definitely one of the main reasons I brought this particular turntable. I’m trying to build an all vintage system and this is the first piece, an amp being the next piece. This Dual is from 1978..
I shared here when I welcomed the Technics SL-1210GAE into the house and here it is with a fresh cartridge- an Audio Technica ART9XI, my first of this caliber. I've changed the phono preamp too, from a couple of Graham Slee boxes to a couple of Gold Note's. These ears are smiling. Turn table, turn!
