I've always thought that "Vital Signs" by Rush was the most complex Police song ever written :D

This set will be my Christmas present to myself kinda thing. Still no image of the set on Amazon but plenty of time for that I suppose.

Hope you weren't planning on getting too "elevated" and comfortable with for you listening experience.

I do and while i enjoy sound quality and greater dynamics by spreading a long record over two discs, none of the Police albums are over 42 minutes long. Do we really need 10 minute sides on this set?

I don't understand what you guys are getting wound up about, it's a 6 disc set, that's the 5 studio albums and one of bonus tracks. They're the same length they've always been. If you're referring to the tracklist I published, Amazon often refers to "sides" as "discs" - it's not 12 discs long, it's 12 sides (i.e. 6 discs)

Im wound up about the Police doing something for their 40th anniversary. I figured it was gonna pass by without a mention. I know they arent the Beatles or Stones, but they are a favorite of mine from teen years and remain a favorite to my middle age.

I got the old box I'm fine with it plus the remasters digipak cds. I don't mind a box with remasters and remix but not at that price.

Re-mastered and cut onto 180-gram heavyweight vinyl at Abbey Road Studios by Miles Showell, the world’s leading exponent of half-speed mastering, this limited-edition set celebrates the 40th anniversary of the multi-million selling band’s first album, ‘Outlandos d’Amour’. It also contains a special 24 page, 12”x12” photo book featuring rare and unseen images from the band's personal archives housed in deluxe packaging of a hardcover box with lift-off lid.

The Police’s studio albums include - Outlandos d'Amour (1978), Reggatta de Blanc (1979), Zenyatta Mondatta (1980), Ghost in the Machine (1981) and Synchronicity (1983). Formed in 1977, The Police are comprised of Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers. During their existence their contribution to the lexicon of rock was immense. The originality of their music fused elements from both punk and reggae to form a brilliant new style that can only be described as Music of the Police. They exist within their own genre. Having sold in excess of 50 million albums worldwide, The Police had phenomenal chart success and earned a multitude of accolades both public and critical, but they never allowed such peripherals to overshadow their commitment to the music itself. This collection features 14 U.K. and eight U.S. Top 20 singles, including five U.K. and two U.S. single number ones and four U.K. number one albums and a number one U.S album.

I'm down with this. Would have liked them to do 45 rpm, with 3 sides of music and 1 artsy-fartsy etched side per album, but hey... maybe that's for the 2023 40th Anniversary of Synchronicity!!
