They clear my head. Still at it. A family band. Wonderful music.. Go see 'em when they come through! Sibling harmony, the best.

Steve, got to see them a few days ago. Even better in person. Beautiful young ladies singing like angels. Wouldnt have known a thing about them if you hadnt mentioned them a few years back. Have all three of their albums and hope to see them again sometime. Reminds me of my ex and her cousin when they sang together. There is something about blood singing with blood.

As glamorous as they look and though Im sure its a blast to do, it aint easy what they do traveling around like that.

I traveled in a gospel group in my 20s. Little sleep and a lot of road. It was fun but wasnt easy. And that was small time.

Really? How interesting. I knew an old timer who was in a black gospel group in the 1980s. Very hard on the road, tough life.

Thing is, I'm amazed the Quebes are still at it. The road brings out the worst in people, we all know that, but they seem to be unaffected. I'm surprised by that. They must be extremely tight with each other..

Steve, I notice you post a lot of the old timey country type stuff. Buddy Charleton, Buck Owens, these gals etc. Has it always been a passion for you or something you grew into?

Yep, we played a lot of churches in the south. In Mobile and around Atlanta. Some beautiful churches.

Those girls I bet were raised right. That has a lot to do with it. They just seem real balanced.

Nothing I grew up with, everything I discovered after my "rock years." I worked at a radio station here in town that played all kinds of music, white, black, everything. That's how I got my education. Best after school job I ever had.. KPFK. How I first heard Ernest Tubb, Bob Wills, etc.

The best show on there was FOLK SCENE which I helped engineer every Sunday night. That's how I met Merle Travis, Joan Baez, John Hartford, etc.

Very cool. Well, thanks for turning a bunch of us on or at the very least reminding us of some of the greats such as Don Gibson and folks like that. So much forgotten talent. And its nice to see these young ladies carrying that tradition.

Little side note: Grew up a street down from Bonnie Owens. My brother use to play with her son. I was small then but I remember eating m and m cookies at her house.

Ya see, if I were their manager I would have named them The Sisters Quebed (get it).

I don't own their CDs, but I always thought they were a pretty good act when I seen them on RFD-TV shows like "Larry's Country Diner" and "The Marty Stuart Show"...

Saw them a few years ago at the Lowell Folk Festival. I'm generally not into anything with that much twang, but music that wonderful transcends genre. Pure joy.

Great stuff! They kind of remind me of a cross between Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks and Spade Cooley.

I think Sophia is the one with the "Dan Hicks/Naomi QUAVER" in her voice. Like Annie Ross. Great sound.

Sophia is the one in the middle in my first video...
