The Rolling Stones postpone tour - Mick Jagger to undergo surgery

Mike Campbell has consistently said that he has a solo album due out at the end of September, and he's touring with the solo band for the rest of the year.

 

This is becoming unbelievable .

I just saw on the internet that the Jimi Hendrix Experience had been quickly booked to fill in for Fleetwood Mac, who were going to be filling in for The Rolling Stones .

The Jazz Fest organizers have just been informed though that tragically, Jimi Hendrix died several decades ago and Mitch and Noel are both deceased also, so the band has regretfully had no other choice at this time but to cancel their appearance and apologize for any inconvenience this has caused .

 

All of these cancellations have resulted in widespread panic

 

My very first thought.

 

Jazz fest should book Sly and the Family Stone.

 

Maybe they could get Experience Hendrix (Billy Cox, Dweezil Zappa, Jonny Lang, Joe Satriani etc.).

So the doctors who said at the very beginning that Mick was expected to fully recover knew what they were talking about. Go figure.

 

It is obvious that this is all leading up to a reformed Creedence headlining JazzFest.

Do people really not realize that they announced yesterday that Widespread Panic is now headlining that day?

 

From the Stones to Fleetwood Mac to Widespread Panic is quite the.. uh... progression.

 

The litmus test is IF they would break up over Ronnie's passing, the rest we know about.

Should've gone with Panic in the first place. They're one of the traditional Jazzfest bands, beloved by many down there. (I'm not a huge fan, but we got Tom Jones and Ziggy Marley in the same slot).

 

Well...I think that depends of if Mick Taylor is not still alive at that point, would they reach out to Marc Ford?

 

WSP was available, and, believe it or not, those guys will move tickets.

 

And many would argue they will put on the best performance of the 3 choices anyway
