I have watched this show from the very beginning. Some of the episodes in the first couple of seasons moved me profoundly. I also watched the webisodes and Talking Dead almost religiously. Then sometime around Season 5, I guess, my interest waned. I stopped paying attention to every detail and Rick got annoying. It started getting better last season but then Carl got killed off. He wasn’t a favorite character or anything but he represented continuity and could have been the central focus of the show being that he grew up and survived during the ZA. It was a mistake to get rid of him and his storyline. Now Rick is the last remaining survivor of the Atlanta group and he’s about to go. Next week’s show should be emotional and gripping, probably for the last time in a long while, depending on how long the show lasts.

Daryl and Carol were part of that group as well.

I found the Daryl speech very emotional.

I think there are a lot of great characters since and Maggie's arc has me intrigued as well.

They were in the countryside and were not shown in Atlanta.

Maggie is the one character I’ve been hoping to see go. Also her fake Georgian accent.

From the preview I got a distinct An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge vibe.

She'll be gone in two more episodes so enjoy that accent while you can.

She may be back though. Supposed to leave it open ended.

Are we sure that it is not going to be open-ended for Rick also?

What did Negan say after Micchone left just before he started beating his head against the wall. I heard him say "I am...." but couldn't make out the rest.

I feel that the season has been very good so far. I just hope they don't ruin it by having the helicopter fly away with Rick.

The cat was let out of the bag...so now they just promote it.

Maybe it will be like Captain America leaving...but he doesn't. I can dream can't I?

I have to be totally honest: this show has delivered in S9. I say they're 4 for 4...and I haven't said that in years. If this is what Angela Kang is bringing as new showrunner, I may stick around a while.
Truthfully, I think the show is mortally wounded without Rick, Carl and Maggie, so if they have aces to play, they'd better play them.

Rick has always been the glue of the show.

Daryl has always seemed like a loner don't see him as a leader type.

    See what happens.

Personally I thin the show has always delivered it is just that some stories weren't as pleasant.

    Spoilers

Season eight was killer with the King's people mow down, Sheeva dying, Rick turning pretty evil, the Simon stories, Anne's betrayal and mow down of her people, the redemption of Eugene, death of Carl...etc.

I think everything has come full circle with Daryl speech.
