Got my record a couple of days ago. From the singles I’ve heard I liked it but didn’t think I’d be as into the album as their other records. But it’s a grower and I like it a lot. No doubt they change direction somewhat again on the next release.

Yeah that's still where I'm at, less excited about this than usual but eager to be surprised anyway

I very much dig the prog elements and more sonically adventurous stuff that's been happening over the past 5-7 years, seems like this will be less in that vein, the way he's described it...

Yeah, this album is definitely more "garage-punk" than their more previous work.

Looks like there's no more Castleface records, and that their distributors will be handling their releases going forward.

Oh dear. I thought Castle Face was John Dwyer. Have I not been buying enough of the records?

Maybe Matt and John had a falling out. But matt's in a band and it seemed to be mainly him running the show there. Maybe its just too much. Sounds like it just the webstore thats down.

Them partnering with other retail outlets for exclusives probably made the transition away from their own store easier.

Castleface is still publishing, they're just no longer distributing.

Does this mean their records will be easier and less expensive to buy or harder and more expensive. Missing a bunch

I wonder if they'll continue pressing the variants? Those were mostly, if not only, available through CF, no? I don't particularly care either way, but that was the first thing that came to mind.

Levitation and Newbury have been getting variants. I assume that will continue. As for represses, Newbury has been getting the interesting ones that Castleface used to carry (and thinking about that, I’m surprised I didn’t realize that CF wasn’t putting up anything at the time. I guess the writing was on the wall all last year).

Their email blast always coincided with a stock update (maybe a minute or 3 after an update). It really hasn’t been too difficult for a few years. Maybe since The Drop?

    Sounds great.

I still don't love the latest Osees album...I wonder if they're going to keep going in that direction. This is more appealing....

I scored the Red Eyes version.

Here's a new track from the album. I absolutely love this. It's so damn weird. Right up my street.

Yes. It’s John Dwyer’s spin off project for improv/experimental music.
