The Beatles - "You Like Me Too Much" (it's the best part of the song, really); "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da"; "Money (That's What I Want)"; "You Never Give Me Your Money" and "Golden Slumbers"; "Lady Madonna"; "Hey Bulldog"; "Misery" (so simple but it really works); "Sexy Sadie"; "Martha My Dear"
Savoy Brown - "Tolling Bells" (not that it's very elaborate or anything, but it's very dark and spooky, and it sets the tone for the song)
    Tesla - "Changes"

Piano Man was more of a harmonica intro. This one though....
    Prelude Angry Young Man

Sorry, I see this was already posted TWICE. Late to the party again!

Right? No Dream On? November Rain?
Maybe not great but they're memorable.

MUSE-New Born(1 Minute & 20 Seconds of Calm before the Rock Explosion. The Year I was living in Pismo Beach while spending most Days in San Luis Obispo, I used to set this this Song to play, while driving down the PCH just as making the turn where the Pacific Ocean would come into view, which was perfect as the Piano Part merged into the Guitar Part at 1:20):

Because the intro consists of harmony voices a capella, not piano.

That solo piano intro, and those from "Trip To The Fair" and "Can You Understand" are my Renaissance Holy Trinity, though perhaps I give a slight edge to the latter. That band without John Tout never was the same again to me, alas.

I listened to all of them; I'm most familiar with Fool's Overture and Man-Erg and I've definitely heard The Waters of Lethe, Take a Pebble, A Trip to the Fair and Awaken before but don't listen to them much. Banks had a shot here.

    Voted for:

    Le Orme, Canto
    Grobschnitt, Magic Train
    Supertramp, Fool's Overture
Steve Hackett, Hammer in the Sand
[other]: Tai Phong, For Years and Years (Cathy) [probably my favourite of all]

    Tony Banks: probably sixth

Van Der Graaf: Both Man-Erg and House with No Door are very nice, but also quite short

    Focus: not bad

from the Short and Sweet, Non-prog Department: Brooklyn Bridge, Blessed is the Rain

I was going to post it but the only YouTube link I found today is one which for some reason starts around the halfway mark then plays the first half of the song second. The proper version has been on before but it seems to have flown the coop ...

I agree with earlier post....“New York City Serenade” Bruce Springsteen. Piano intro by Dave Sancious

I also like “Incident on 57th Street”
