TV sitcoms at crossroads: is there life after Friends, Frasier?

    I think eventually, even the best sitcoms run out of gas. After so many seasons, they run out of fresh ideas and angles for the characters. The bad shows resort to having babies (when the rest of the family is grown-up) or far-out plotlines that bear no resemblance to when the show was in its prime.

    Eventually, you have to give up and move on. I know it's tough because the actors don't want to lose a high-paying gig, but hopefully Kelsey Grammer has saved a few bucks. Besides, he can always play Sideshow Bob once a year on The Simpsons.

    BART: Sideshow Bob has tried to kill me so many times, It's not funny anymore!
