The BBC had used a live gig Ultravox had played but only released seven tracks from it at a time when they were regularly playing for 80 or 90 minutes a night.

The BBC Live Aid performance was just a charity performance so a lot of them are not really in full gear even the pro-audio settings are not as they are setup on album recordings. Even thou its still great! Ive never seen anyone today that will capture the spirits they've don't in the late 6's including the Live Aid or maybe the 8
In Ultravox they still sound good today but I really like the sound of the early ones when they use the PPG keyboard and the old ensoniq. Most of the solid synth bands of the 80's uses those. But I know they didn't use a Roland Jupiter 8 which the Depeche mode and Duran duran..

Ultravox Brilliant official 2012 tour programme with DVD Region 0 PAL

This is a UK based item

This is the wonderful tour programme from Ultravox's last ever headline tour and has the DVD too, which is PAL Region 0 containing behind the scenes footage and the making of the album too."

    should be here in awhile.

Hmmm, not sure how to feel about this. After the excellent box set I thought we were done with Vienna, but now there's an instrumental version? Why wasn't it included in the box??

That's a bit strange, if it's a complete instrumental version and not the demos. I'm up for it though, can't get enough of this album.

Well, i already made my own instrumental versions. Which is probably why they didn't want me
    posting them.

    Who knew?

i like the black theme of the covers.

maybe they should have used the negative of the pictures,
    that would have been cool.

Finally got what I hope is the last tourbook (well, maybe not all the foreign,
    and japanese ones)..

So here is brilliant, the cover is embossed, the paper quality is excellent, so are the pictures.

The print is on 3/4 pages, so it's not full sized, which is interesting.

I would try to upload the 50 minute background to youtube, but I'm sure it would get blocked.
Maybe I could put in on vimeo. Whatever.

Brilliant Beginnings has been on YouTube for years. Maybe you could upload a better quality rip, though.

Fade as in Fade to Grey?

Sometimes the notion that even after dropping a hit single with another band, you have to be really confident to still take on another project that, up to that point had been nothing but a loss for everyone involved 3 albums in a row. Even then, Vienna nearly dropped off a cliff after it's release

Just got an email regarding the clear vinyl reissue of the 2012 Tour album. Release date now pushed to June 18.

"As you know, the original expected release date had been changed to mid-May due to border delays that were affecting vinyl manufacture.

Unfortunately, these long delays have continued and there is now a global backlog, which is affecting all vinyl releases.

The good news is that we now have a firm delivery date of 18th June so the orders will start to ship the week commencing 21st June."
