You lucky... whatchamacallit! Here I am with the amazing Mingus: Recorded live in Paris in 1964. Two months after this concert, Eric Dolphy, who had decided not to return to USA, would pass away in Europe. A genius was gone.
The new YOB track, streaming on RS. Compared to the one I posted yesterday, which quite a lot of you would love, not like if you actually had the sense to check it out, this one would get to many of you in a very bad way I'm lovin' it, ofc: Illness Almost Killed Doom Metal Titans Yob – But Gave Their Work Life Edit: Silly Rolling Stone... Calling YOB 'doom metal'. That's like saying that the Dead was a country band...

In Carrolton GA en route to New Mexico. Doin a straight Brian Johnson ACDC marathon for now. Up to Who Made Who right now.
Started off with the 4 Uncle Tupelo expanded CDs. I’m into a Son Volt marathon with the 2 CD Trace reissue
Haven't listened to this one in a while - did receive his last two releases (Dodecahedron and Empty Castles) last week and they both sounded great. Was a bit disappointed with the packaging - the cd trays are gone - just paper sleeves. Guessing it's a cost thing and since it's his own label, it's understandable.
I’ll be ordering the double disc Dodecehedron and I’ll probably reach back and get the first dual drummer quartet release (also a double disc set). To me the most recent dual drummer release is amazing.
Listened to Bowie's Who Can I Be Now? box set over the last couple of days, everything from Diamond Dogs through Station to Station plus alternate mixes and bonus live show and rarities/singles mix disc. Also Miles Davis 'Round About Midnight in mono, and Dylan's Slow Train Coming (I was out of town a couple weekends ago and didn't get to do my traditional Easter play through of the Dylan Christian albums trilogy). Moving on to Guided By Voices, Alien Lanes.

Playing this one for the first time. I've never heard an album by this band 'til now. Nice indie-psych. Grizzly Bear - Painted Ruins
Gadd, Lenny White and Alphonse Mouzon are laying such an incredible backbeat down the grooves of the DiMeola record, I decided to get greedy. All three, exceptional examples of why the 70's fusion stream was a good and exciting thing.
A little different than yesterday’s acoustic video which I did dig btw. I have to admit I’d never heard of Yob.
In Tallulah LA right now. Drove 587 miles. Got 213 to go before morning. Today i played: AC/DC - Back in Black For Those About to Rock Flick Of The Switch Fly On The Wall Who Made Who Blow Up Your Video Steely Dan (my new favorite group): Cant Buy a Thrill Countdown to Ecstacy Pretzel Logic What the hell is with Steely Dan? The more i hear the more i cant get enough. If there was such a thing as perfect music, this is it right here lol
Oh dude, wait until you start getting into the lyrics. There's a lot to unpack in a lot of the tunes.
Weve been go-go-going so much lately i havent even had time to read up on them at all. For me, thats crazy lol. I cant get enough though. I feel like when I first heard 90125 and thought "this is now my favorite album"
I thought Steely Dan was lame adult music until I became a lame adult. Wait, I didn't say that right. I read that the big guitar chords at the beginning of "Owner Of A Lonely Heart" were meant to mock the opening chords of "Heat Of The Moment" by Asia.
