Love, Four Sail. Not everything on it is great, but the highlights--particularly "August" and "Robert Montgomery"--are glorious. This is one of the finest artifacts of our psych rock heritage: whatever that means
Always nice to see Buddy Guy and Billy Gibbons. Beth Hart is cool and Steven Tyler still looks and sounds like a rock star thank god! Not to many of them left now sadly. Beck plays electric guitar with his thumb(so does Nils Lofgren but with a pick) and it looks so easy...not! The instrumental A day in the life is simply amazing!
On my third grunion ipa from Ballast Point and now it's time for the Ooooo at the Isle of Wight 1970. I've had the DVD since forever but it's been at my parents place since I moved out years ago. I just bought the blu-ray and giving it a spin. Great great rock n roll!
Man, I'm glad I re-bought the show. Pictured quality is excellent and beautifully organic. I ain't often 16mm looks this great. Shot at a festival no less. Holy ****! And the 5.1 mix shakes my house! The band is a freakin freight train goin on 88mph into the future, or is that back to future? It raaawks! Hey my man Chris; anything funny to add?
I saw this in the theater ~10 years ago when it was re-released that way. I hadn't ever seen it and was... uh... surprised by some of the editing choices. It frustrates me when directors do that.
