A new question: How does I Want You (She's So Heavy) end (without the reckless cut)? And why was the full version not included in the 50th Anniversary Edition of Abbey Road?
I don't know how true this is true but according to Emerick, John instructed him to literally snip the tape.
What do you mean? The complete version is on the deluxe edition. It's disc 2, track 1. Keep in mind that the original live guitars starting at 3:30 aren't present on the reduction mix so you don't get to hear them.
I don't think that this is from the same take as the one on the final album. The length on 50th Anniversary Edition disc 2 is only 6:59 but the final version is 7:47. Shouldn't the uncut version be longer than this? Added later: The so-called "Trident Recording Session" on disc 2 is even shorter as the song only starts around 1:30.
The 'reduction mix' part (the long repeated riff at the end) is the master take (but with different overdubs), and it goes on until the true ending.
Thanks, that makes it clear now! The song is a combination of (at least) 2 takes. And there are only about 19 s missing from the original ending...
Except John all the Beatles came from rougher backgrounds than the Stones (Charlie in turn possibly excepted) So my moneys on them
More a comment, than a question: Isn’t it great that Revolution #9 is actually a pretty enduring piece after 52 years? For me, it’s sure been a grower!
Paul's own meltdown, kinda of like Lennon's the year before (?). I remember someone from the inner circle saying they were unhappy with Paul the most in 68 or 69.
Was there a vote to replace George Martin for Let It Be? I know it was John's idea, but I would love to know who was for/against the bad decision.
Who is the gentleman saying 'Number 9'? I've never seen a name for this person, or even a real attempt at identifying him... I mean, he was clearly a real person, and he lived in the 20th century; it might be very difficult to identify him, but is it completely impossible? It seems to be...
It's already been cleared up that this is incorrect, as the intact ending is present on the 50th anniversary set.
Do you think that girls think less of a Beatle fan if he lets himself be kissed? I mean, eh, don't you think that although girls go out with boys like that they - they always marry the other kind?
