John Renbourn, generally known for his acoustic work, consistently incredible. seldom see him with an electric

I always think of this guy when it comes to Bass Guitar. I hear he writes songs too.

I believe the 6-string bass used on the recordings was a Danelectro -- one of the long necked U-series models, I think.

It is a beautiful guitar. I honestly don't find it all that strange she is playing that type of guitar. I did find her playing a Parker a bit, well...uh, unique

I’m guessing he means Taylor is inspiring many young girls to pick up guitar. Something they may not have done if they didn’t have Taylor as a role model.

I was actually interested in a Parker a while back. Never followed through with the deal though. Probably all for the better. I’m sure I would have taken a bath on it if I decided to let it go later on.

But, in general, Telecasters surprise me. Most notibly, Jimmy Page and Elliot Easton. I guess Teles are more versatile than they seem.

  16. Actually it's an Epiphone Riviera, with mini-humbuckers (the Casino has P-90's) ..

The scarves Simon and Garfunkel are wearing can be seen in the cover photo shoot for the "Sounds of Silence" album that Guy Webster did in Beverly Hills. So I think it's right after "Sounds of Silence" became a hit single and before the album was released.

    That's not a Casino,looks like a late 60's Epiphone Riviera to me.Those are mini-humbuckers in that picture above,not P-90's.
    Here is the Riviera..
Well looks like it's already been corrected as i posted this ;)

Robbie also played a Howard Roberts Gibson on the second Band lp. I believe there's a picture of it inside the fold-open album cover.

Anything Mark Farner chose to play was pretty unexpected in a mainstream sense:

    His Messenger model

    Micro-frets guitar

    And his Parker

Looks like a Kent 820. A very cool guitar.

This may not be generally unexpected, I don’t know. For me, it is more the combination of guitar and the time period that is unexpected, as I know Jimi used a Jazzamaster a lot for a period during his pre-fame years.
