I have the original CD releases of Van's "Irish Heartbeat" and the Polydor "Best Of." Since the time that I bought them a while ago, they've been re-released in remastered editions. I noticed last night that my "Best Of" is mastered brighter than the original "Moodance" CD. I didn't check the "Irish Heartbeat."

Does anyone know if the remastered versions sound better than the original releases?

I've heard both versions ofTupelo Honey and the best of and I think the remasters sound better. The old Best of sounded kind of muddy on some older songs. The remaster is brighter and clearer. I guess it depends on your tastes. I can argue till I'm blue in the face on how much I love the Zep remasters but there are people out there that like the originals better. You may have to compare and see.

The original Warners sound much better. Don't know about the Polydors.
