Vintage Speakers, worth picking up?......

Vintage EMI elliptical speakers, reasonably priced. Any info on these...

 

...be prepared to redo the foam surrounds.

 

They might not need refoaming. Most likely, these have paper surrounds.

Go listen to them. If you like what you hear, pick them up. I'd say there is a 50/50 chance these will be worth your time.

 

Thanks, i'm sorely tempted, but i've concluded i really don't have the space for this size cabinet.

I was trying not to give too much away, as the price is amazingly low and i'm surprised they haven't been snapped up. Any UK members who are interested(it's UK only), they are on Ebay.

 

my mom had the decomposing foam in the 70s
she just stretched stocking over cardboard and cut holes for the speakers
it's still together
