"Lord of the Thighs" derailed so we're down to 3. Pick the ONE weakest link! DISCUSSION: where do you rank "Get Your Wings" in the Aerosmith discography? YOU SEEN SONGS CRYING: -Lord of the Thighs -SOS (Too Bad) -Spaced -Woman of the World -Pandora's Box
1. Toys In Attic 2. Rocks 3. Get Your Wings 4. Aerosmith First four in above order, then I stopped. Never really liked comeback stuff (after Run DMC video)...
“Seasons Of Wither” to go. I know I’m likely in the minority here, but I actually prefer 80’s/90’s Aerosmith to 70’s, so I don’t rank this album very highly. I’ve only ever played it start to finish twice, so I won’t give a specific placement.
I'm guessing Aerosmith comeback albums outsold the 70's albums. I think the 70's albums are far better (I'm old school), but the band really had a huge comeback. Having said that, I think newer artists have a MUCH easier time out selling 60's/70's artists because: Way more people in the world Way more people with access to music (3rd world countries now have access) Way more ease of access: iPods, phones, stereos. Even little kids listen to music on their own now (that didn't happen in 60s & 70s).
"Train Kept A Rollin" Just ranking the albums I own: 1. Rocks 2. Get Your Wings 3. Toys in the Attic 4. Aerosmith 5. Draw the Line 6. Done With Mirrors 7. Night in the Ruts 8. Rock in a Hard Place 9. Permanent Vacation
Same Old Song and Dance again Rank it second only behind the Mighty "Rocks" 1. Rocks 2. Get Your Wings 3. Toys in the Attic
My top 5 would be something like this: Permanent Vacation Rocks Pump Toys in the Attic Get Your Wings
Train Kept a Rolling. Honestly I can’t understand the love their version gets but I’m obviously in a minority. Get your wings probably 3 or 4 depending on how i feel about Toys on any given day.
Train was a killer when I first listened to the album. Air guitars were flying everywhere. Then I saw Soul Asylum open for Husker Du in Boston and they played a version of Seasons Of Wither that would make your face melt. They were the better band that night. Same Old Song and Dance... a stone cold classic. Ain't gonna change it, can't rearrange it... These are the three best songs.
“Train…” features Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner on guitar, brought in by Bob Ezrin. I always wondered why Joe’s solos sounded so great.
