I really dig the Cyrkle...what a catalog they have, so much more than a "two-hit wonder".

Hem? Although I'm sadly not sure if they're still a band.

  14. I don't listen to anything much softer than this:

“Language of the Blue Fireflies“ written and produced by Aoto Kei, sung by yin.

BREAD - a great overlooked band with very talented members, great songwriting both music-wise and lyrics-wise, gifted instrumentalists, and whose music was very well recorded. One thing that made them head and shoulders above the rest of the soft rock acts is their ability to create and play harder rock numbers in addition to soft rock. They were one of the major proponents of soft rock from the late 60's to the 70's. The fact that the other proponents of soft rock genre like James Taylor, Cat Stevens and Jackaon Browne were already inducted in the RRHOF, why not BREAD (David Gates, Jimmy Griffin, Larry Knechtel, Mike Botts and Robb Royer)?

I still want to hear absolutely everything recorded by The Free Design and it's members!

    Chris Dedrick rocked... very softly.

Okay, so that's clear and out of the way. I also like the '70s-'80s Dutch group Pussycat with vocals by Toni Wille and harmony by her two sisters! I don't care if they were ever cool, great songs!

Toni in center with Marianne (left) and Betty (right).

And of course The Carpenters (we need all the old Spectrum recordings!), Emmett Rhodes, The Cyrkle, Pozo Seco Singers and Don Williams!

Is the OP confusing "knows chords containing more than three notes" with being "soft"?

    For me, this means:

    Alison Krauss
    Sarah Jarosz
    Cara Dillon
    Peggy Lee
    Madeleine Peyroux
    John Martyn
    Nick Drake
    Aqualung (the band)
    Stina Nordenstam
    K D Lang

Been listening to a lot of this kind of stuff recently.
