Well, I could not resist going to Barnes and Noble with the 40 % off on cds coupon this weekend. Actually, I hit the one closest to me yesterday and the next nearest today.

I can not believe how much I spent! But, look how much I saved! (see that's what I told my wife.) :)

Got a bunch of stuff I've been meaning to pick up for ages (and a couple that just followed me home like the Dave Edmunds Anthology).

And nine Rolling Stones SACDs - including spare copies of Metamorphosis, Between the Buttons (US) and Out of Our Heads (US) - anybody want to trade for ones I stiill need (incl. England's Newest, December's Children, Let it Bleed, Ya Ya's, Hot Rocks, More Hot, High Tide, Singles)?

Also scored one Steve Hoffman disc - Dave Mason's 2fer of "It's Like You Never Left/ Dave Mason"!:goodie:

So what did you use your coupon for?

Bloody little unfortunately. I always bin those e-mails since I live 3200 miles from the nearest Barnes & Noble. However, I'm visiting my parents at the moment and they have a B&N about a 5 minute drive away. Spent about an hour rooting, passed on Glenn Gould's Bach Well Tempered Clavier Book 2 (didn't even feel like paying 40% off $35), got a couple of indie CDs for my wife (a Phoenix album and Bloc Party's Something For The Weekend) and grabbed the Living Stereo SACD of Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra just so as to buy something for myself. I was sorely tempted by a couple of boxed sets, particularly the Rhino Girl Group one, but couldn't bear the thought of having to figure out how to get the hat box packaging home without destroying it.

Well I spent quite a bit and am proud of it!!! Among my stack of purchases, managed to pick up the SACD edition of "War of the Worlds" for $13.49 and the Loreena McKennitt box set "The journey begins" for $19.43.

    Hope everyone else did well.

Friday night the place was busy with customers with stacks of CD's in the one hand and their coupon in the other.

    Grateful Dead - Reckoning (2CD)
Grateful Dead - Dead Set (2CD)
Bob Dylan - Bootleg Series 4

I found the coupon to be a good value on multi-disc sets. For a single CD it merely lowered the price to what I would pay elsewhere

All I managed to get was the remaster of Living Colour's Vivid (for the bonus tracks), the new Black Crowes and Tepid Peppermint Wonderland, a 2-disc compilation by the Brian Jonestown Massacre.

Picked up a handful of Stones SACDs, then put them back, and did likewise with the first 4 Ramones albums. I've bought that stuff several times over the years, and couldn't justify doing it again, even at a decent price.

Is that the lindsey buckingham CD/DVD combo? Is the video really 4x3 and not widescreen?

I'm broke but my wife picked up the "My Lives" box set.

I agree with cdash99. 40% off a 18.98 CD is still too much! So I almost walked out with nothing...but discount seemed more reasonable on multi-cd sets (and anything less than $12). I ended up with:

    - John Coltrane - A Love Supreme [Deluxe 2cd] (~$18.)
    - Otis Redding - Dreams to Remember [2cd] (~$20.)
    - Arcade Fire - debut EP (~$7)

I saw the same spec a couple of places - just couldn't confirm one way or the other - crossed my fingers and picked one up...

    It's anamorphic widescreen...
Well, the concert anyway, the 'behind the scenes' extra is 4x3 letterbox...
