What Elvis Presley movie would make a good modern remake?

Outside of TTWII and EOT, could you see an EP film that would work with a modern day actors?

I could see Jailhouse Rock working as a musical. I could see flaming Star working as a serious film.

Opinions?

 

I think King Creole would work as a Broadway musical, as would Viva Las Vegas.

King Creole is the obvious one - but only if they went back to the original book (A Stone for Danny Fisher) and adapted that instead of the Elvis film. In the book, we learn all about Danny's childhood and youth, whereas King Creole starts about halfway through the book. Plus Danny is a boxer, not a singer. There are a number of actors around now who would work in the part - Miles Teller would particularly suit the role.

I'd like to see the original novel upon which The Trouble with Girls was based adapted into a quality TV series. It is much darker and adult than the film (which I think is very underrated anyway), and one could imagine it working rather well as a series with the various interweaving storylines.

trusting Asian man trusts Elvis and his no-good partner with his child....they kidnap the child and take to the worlds fair and Elvis proceeds to trick a trusting nurse into his evil lair.....kurt russell can reprise his role

 

Spinout. It could be the next part of the Fast and Furious franchise.

 

Flaming Star for sure. Not a bad film and with today's... ummmm ... sensibilities, somebody could do a lot with the premise.
