What foam/dampener do you suggest for use inside a speaker cabinet?

I am fiddling around with some speaker mods and have looked at lots of things.
I see quite a few different types and styles of dampening agents used inside the cabinets...mostly some type of foam though.

I am wondering if anyone has a suggestion about the type and style of foam dampener I should use inside the speaker cabinet?

If you have specifics that would be great.

Go to GR-Research.com and look at their "no rez" product. Not an endorsement. Looks good though.

 

Google is your friend on this, different materials tend to influence different frequencies and some products are actually more suited for pillow stuffing, than speaker lining.

Might want to check things out over at the TechTalk (parts-express.com) forum.

 

I've had good results with Black Hole 5.Speaker City sells speakers, drivers, audiophile loud Black Hole 5 - (18 in. x 24 in.) Pricey but the good stuff usually is.

 

Pillow or mattress stuffing for acoustic suspension enclosures.
Egg-crate foam panels for vented enclosures.

 

Damping, not dampening.

Unless you're using water that is.

I've used this in the past, and VMPS Speakers used it, too. Very good product.
