I know others liked it, but we actually got our money back from this about 45 min into the movie. First and only time I have asked for a refund at a movie theatre.

It's not a great movie for sure but I saw it recently and it's one of those that has enough to keep you watching, even if it is to see how bad some parts are, but I did quite like some of the songs (Because and Lucy..) so it has something going for it. One of those films that it is so bad it's good.

Some movies are so bad that they are fun to watch (e.g. Staying Alive, the sequel to Saturday Night Fever)........CBGB is not one of those.

I remember at the premiere of 12 Years A Slave, Madonna was caught texting during the film, which I thought was horrible. Then I saw the film. That was the last movie I saw in a theater.

I don't THINK I'm part of the progressive intelligentsia, but I liked it. The concept made sense to me, and I laugh every time I think of "Welcome to Costco, I love you".

I originally put Xanadu in the so bad, it's good category, but although it's kinda goofy in parts, it is entertaining and isn't that why we watch movies: to be entertained?

32 pages and no mention of Tammy and the T-Rex?

An evil scientist implants the brain of Michael, a murdered high school student, in an animatronic Tyrannosaurus. He escapes, wreaks vengeance on his high school tormentors and is reunited with his sweetheart Tammy. Together, the couple try to elude the mad scientist and the police and find a more appropriate vessel for Michael's brain.

    Starring Denise Richards.

After watching Johnny Depp in Ed Wood I watched a couple of real Ed Wood films. They are awful but fun to watch.

Thanks for reminding me. (Your Avatar picture) "Zardoz" Terrible movie even with Sean Connery's briefs.

  19. Oh I like it. It’s
Kind and f a cult classic number now. It certainly works for me. Silly at times? Absolutely. One man’s trash

  20. Exactly. I thought no of bad movies as completely unwatchable

  21. It’s a Lynchian comedy. Surreal and very pretentious. Doesn’t mean It’s not bad though. I made a student film parody of it at UCLA

The dialogue tells us that it doesn't matter who wins the final game in the movie.

Vincent "Eddie, what will you do when I kick your @$$?"
Eddie "Pick myself up and let you kick it again."
    Vincent "Oh, yeah?"
Eddie "Yeah, just don't put the money in the bank, kid. If I don't whip you now, I'll whip you next month in Dallas."
    Carmen "Houston."
Eddie "Houston, Dallas. If not, a month after that in New Orleans."
Vincent "What makes you so sure?"
    Eddie "Hey, I'm back."

  23. it would most likely be a Drama film with actors who think they are too cool

  24.
  25. I agree. I enjoyed Sneakers but it was insubstantial. Entertaining though. As to The Color of Money, it was directed by Martin Scorsese so I wasn’t surprised the way it ended and, as someone else pointed out, it didn’t matter who won.
