Since What's My Name is probably Ringo's last album, I feel this could be the perfect time to release this...
can’t see this happening, tbh. But you might get a Bandcamp collection of unreleased rehearsal room demos one day.
This set is long overdue .... Sun Ra - The Eternal Myth Revealed Vol.2 and I would (need to) pay big money for this shelf buster .... Lee Perry & Friends - The Complete Black Ark Sessions
What's your tracklist for that later disc, then? I've started to come back around to those albums in the last few years but I've still not had the time to do a really deep dive. Dope Dogs is the one that surprised me most. My problem has always been that I discovered P-Funk in the mid 90s and when those albums were coming out they had to compete for my attention with all the 70s stuff I was picking up on for the first time, the odd great track here and there was never going to grab me for long next to the sustained genius of Mothership Connection or Let's Take It To The Stage or whatever.
Phil Spector: Back To Mono Again (90's box expanded to Complete Mono Releases, using the Anesini Legacy remasters from The Philles Albums Collection, getting rid of the duplicated tracks and featuring everybody - Righteous Brothers included)
A "middle years" box set exist, this one: Overkill - Historikill (1995-2007) It does not have the early years masterpieces though, nor the excellent renaissance era records.
An Albert King Videography. We already have great Audio from 2 excellent Montreux Festival shows in 1973 & 1975 & it is hard to believe they were not filmed as it seems that just about everyone was that performed there. (Rory Gallagher & Louisiana Red were guests on the latter show) There is some splendid concert & backstage footage from 1970 at The Fillmore West & at least one live track from Wattstax in 1972. Plenty of other later footage is also around to fill it out but the above selections should represent the core.

Thanks! I'm going to put this together and have a listen at the earliest possible opportunity, probably this Sunday. I'm looking forward to it, hoping to have a few tracks I'd overlooked jump out and do their thing. I have to say including that version of Maggot Brain does feel like something of a cheat, though. And of course there's always the problem of starting any playlist with Atomic Dog, whatever you put next you'll be struggling to find anything as good to follow it.
Just went in chronological order the best I could. I don't consider Maggot Brain a cheat. The intro and the fact that all three of P-Funk's most famous guitarists play on it sets it apart from the original. i would waste 16 minutes if I didn't think it was necessary.
I'd like to see a comprehensive New York Dolls box covering 1971-1975. It would include the 2 albums, the few unreleased-at-the-time tracks, and the demos - though all of that has been released somewhere over the years. What I would really want to hear are studio recordings of the tracks on the Red Patent Leather live album - "Red Patent Leather," "Teenage News," "Pirate Love," "Girls," "On Fire," etc. - if they exist at all.
As far as P-FUNK, I would be happy with a Large a Box Set of their Live Shows. I am not into the Grateful Dead(except for a few of their Early Psychedelic Rock Song), but always have been jealous of their fans being provided a large selection of GD Concert Recordings. I own the 4 CDs Live P-FUNK Set that was released in the '90s, which is probably hard to find now unless at a high price. Live at the Beverly Center that was also released in the '90s is a Good Live Release. Also, for the Albums under the George Clinton Name, after 'Computer Games', I think 'Hey Man Smell Amy Finger' is his next Best Solo Album. I stil had not yet bought his recent Album, but lost interest once his Grandchildren were part of the Band. Bootsy Collins' Albums have been better overall the past 25 years.
