If anyone responds with Titanic, the Gorts should take them out back and flog them with a whip made of Steve's beard trimmings. :)

Most of the movies I would pick have already been mentioned by some others in this thread. One I didn't see here though is one that Ken would probably refer to as a "junk food" movie - The Hollywood Knights. For years it wasn't available for sale due to (I think) licensing issues with the music in the movie, so up until a couple of years ago if you wanted a copy (uncensored), you'd have to record it yourself off of HBO, Cinemax, etc.

The Matrix has turned out to be a movie I can watch again and again. I always keep it nearby handy for HT demo's. Very impressive sound on this one (especially the helicopter crashing scene).

Lots of good choices here. Something tells me I'll be toggling between this thread and Netflix the next time I'm updating my rental queue:)

    Two of my favorites:-

An affair to remember w/ Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr...

the last scene when Cary Grant suddenly shows up in Deborah Kerr's apartment and find out that he could not kae the appointment becuase she had met with an accident never fails to make me misty!

To catch a thief w/Cary Grant and Grace Kelly...

One of the highlights of this film is the gorgeous Grace Kelly and the amazing scenery of the French Riviera in the 1950's.

Ed Bishop Incredibly, I'm still here

Hundreds. I couldn't make a list if I tried. That's not bragging, I've just seen way too many movies over the years. The most recent film I can watch over and over is Clint's SPACE COWBOYS, maybe in part because of its space program backdrop, but also because it's a nice story(however implausible)and the actors are great, guys I've seen so many times in the past. Like watching a bunch of old friends being old friends again.

I just picked this up on DVD and watched it for the first time since seeing it in the theater. Much better than I remember - I missed a lot the first time around but it's got me stoked to see the 'Matrix - Reloaded' now.

Not only can I imagine that I can top it, although not personally. A client of mine who has over the years kind of become my "adopted father" has at last count 3,219 DVD's in his collection. I know because I designed a database to keep track of them all and every six months or so I go to the house to organize/alphabetize/purge duplicates. What is a son for?

He must be a proud Popa! That's real nice of you...and WOW! Now that's a collection! Hmm, Where do the duplicates go? There are hundreds if not thousands of Movies I'd love to own on DVD! I'm real excited about the upcoming TV Show Boxsets!...Lost In Space, Green Acres, Mr. ED (The Horse not The Bishop), Little House On The Praire, One Step Beyond, The Outer Limits Box 2, Mr. Show Season 3, and a few others...Now to find the coin...I might have to sell off some of my Cee Dee's! Oh GOD NO!!!!

The agreement is I get to keep the dupes! Even though he takes a printout of his collection to Tower every Tuesday he still manages to gets his wires crossed and gets something he already has.

The Godfather & Godfather II. Although I have watched these dozens of times, I always pick up on a new subtly that I previously missed.
