Another potential problem with the show being in HD is that the backgrounds look... kind of cheap. Most of the "exterior" scenes at South Fork were shot in a studio and the "fields" in the background look like they were cut out of a magazine and blown up. Maybe they'll replace them along with the "Dallas exteriors" we see in the office windows.
HONEYMOONERS only ran one season as a sitcom on the Dumont network. Jackie Gleason bounced around to various networks in various variety shows and incorporated the Honeymooners as sketched in all if them, so it really ran for many years.
Making a concerted effort to make it through the entire Avengers Emma Peel Megabox. Not a chore, but there is a lot of it. Diana and Patrick were simply the best. I would watch those two read the phone book together. The fight scenes are pretty silly tho.
I have been watching Shut Eye on Hulu. Not a real old show, but it is pretty good. The main actor is Jeffrey Donovan who was also in Burn Notice.
For the lovers of The Twilight Zone, One step Beyond is very similar to TZ, but instead of presenting fictional stories, OSB based its episodes on real stories with a twist
What I remember about "Welcome Back Kotter" is that the Boston ABC affifiate station refused to put it on when it premiered because it thought it would inflame tempers during the busing crises that occurred in Boston then. It was broadcast on a UHF station instead.
Midnight Special on DVD - the six-disc set. Just watched Helen Reddy singing “To Love Somebody” along with the Bee Gees
This is my fav TZ episode. That woman was becoming mad for what was happening to her at that bus station. That guy who first tried to help her, then called the cops on her. Then he was pulled into the same events........amazing storyline. Say Kaskade, where can I find other episodes of TZ online ?!
Yeah, it's a good one -- though I never really understood the essential meaning behind the ending...were ALL these people at the station experiencing this "parallel existence," and was it something on the property of the station that made them "stumble upon" this alternate universe? As for episodes online, I suppose you can watch them all via YouTube; I only watch the DVDs and sometimes when they're shown on the SciFi channel...
