A lovely adjustable recliner with an ottoman designed by the late great Ingmar Relling:

Or, if using headphones, this Hans Wegner classic: hans wegner flag halyard chair - Google Search

You shouldn't be using a chair at all. You should be shakin' yo' money maker to the music.

My wife loves this chair. I've learned to love what she loves. I have to admit, it makes for a great listening chair. When I'm not listening to music it's moved left in the photo and turned about 120° counter-clockwise to face the television (out of sight on right side of photo). I've often wondered if the uneven shape of the chair's back reflects sound in such a way that one of my speakers sounds different from the other. Kidding.

Nice! We have a set of westnofa Siesta chairs, also a Relling design, I think. Got them when we got married...some years ago.

I usually relax on a small couch in my listening room. The music also sounds nice in a recliner chair right outside the door of my room.

Looking at some of these chairs posted here, my first thought is that a cat would love that. Do any of you have to negotiate with a cat or other pet over the use of your favourite listening chair? Cats can be very clear about where they prefer to recline.

Your are kidding, we do know that. :)

But, right now there are those at home looking at your post and saying...

Ikea Poang and footrest. No complaints whatsoever. And it has just the right amount of spring that when you start getting into a groove you can rock with the chair

Sounds like the Poang is good. I made an offer on 2 of them with ottoman. One for me and one for my wife.

Poangs seem to come up on Craigslist often for cheap. I just picked up one in leather with the ottoman. Looks brand new, seller claims it was only used to stage a house she was selling.

We got an oak glider back when my first daughter was born, as the movement was soothing for the baby. I find the motion of the glider to be perfect for listening to music and since it's a glider, it's totally silent even when in motion. The babies have all grown up, but I'm still rockin'!

No way! I was in Office Depot yesterday looking for a file cabinet and just idly (idle-ly?) checked out the chairs. Currently using a firm mesh chair from Costco for the computer that my bony butt doesn't really care for. (Got some sciatica that kicks in every half-hour or so.) I sat in the very one pictured above and that was all she wrote! Bought the last one at that store for $99 on sale from $199! (Sale ends Saturday 9/14.) Took it home, dumped it, and went right back out to another location for another one. One for the home office and one for the man-cave. Very comfortable, which is what I ain't right now. Still need to put them together. Another guy was there looking at the same chair and bought one too. Nice leather, doesn't look cheap.

My current listening chair for the man-cave is a smallish-frame swivel/rocker/recliner parked in the sweet spot. There may be a battle ahead for which one reigns supreme.

I'm tempted to post a counter-example, but this is a family board.
