Richard Thompson last week - 7/25/20 - in Woodbridge, NJ. The city is running social distance concerts this year. Have Grace Potter in NJ in a couple of weeks.

    Pre-pandemic: Patti Smith in San Francisco 3/8 & 9/20.

Fortunate to have seen three shows in 2 weeks at the end of January in Columbus, Ohio: G. Love & Special Sauce, Black Pumas and Trampled by Turtles. All were really outstanding. But man I miss live music this summer.

Very nice. There’s a local promoter here running concerts at some of the drive-in theaters, but anything I’ve been interested in has sold out immediately.

This July 3rd I went to a special drive in concert by The Waco Brothers, sponsored by Fitzgerald’s Pub just outside Chicago. We were emailed the “secret location” the morning of the show, we were assigned parking spaces (maybe 50 or so cars) and watched the gig from our cars. The Wacos each played distanced from one another on the back of individual pick up trucks. They’re a fantastic live band anyway, but this gig was super unique and pretty crazy fun.

Last one on a big arena was The Stones last concert in Miami. I hope that wasn’t their last

  12. Didn't see any shows in 2020, but I was planning to see King Crimson in July, which was obviously cancelled. Long-time fan, and I've never managed to catch them live. Fingers crossed.

Jeff Lynne in Anaheim a year ago. Harrison’s son opened and we got to see him sing his dad’s part of Handle With Care with Jeff. Pretty epic.

It was supposed to be a fundraising week for sound equipment but they decided to stream all of the gigs which is why on the Monday there were far fewer than normal actually there.

And then on Tuesday they announced that they would be shutting to live audience and streaming behind closed doors. The last streamed gig was on 23rd March.

This is the longest period without a gig since I started going on a regular basis 7 years ago.

First of february 2020: Blackberry Smoke & The Tedeschi Trucks Band, Wembley Arena, London, UK.

Post lockdown: a few weeks ago i saw a short concert (recorded & filmed for radio & tv/streaming) by my fave Dutch band Dewolff. Only 80 people allowed in this hometown venue which normally has a capacity of about 900.

February 17th: Eric Clapton and Friends: A Tribute to Ginger Baker, Hammersmith Odeon, London, which was awesome.

I was supposed to go to two shows in Dublin since then: Gabrielle Aplin on March 10th, which I skipped for family obligations, and Steve Martin & Martin Short on March 11th, but I wimped out of going due to increased Covid concern. The Irish government announced lockdown here the next day.

If the Clapton show ends up being my last show for a while, that's perfectly fine with me. I had eight other shows lined up between now and then, most of which have been postponed, but a few were cancelled outright.
