Hmm. It may have been Earth by Misty In Roots.

I think the last of 2022 may have been More Specials. That seemed fitting with Terry 'Enjoying Himself'.

1985 PDO CD... Lol not the most interesting choice in the world. Just wanted to start off easy. Then I found out there my left speaker cable was wonky and copper was sticking out all over the place. So I fixed the whole setup, cleaned every article in the office and now it's even more cosier and the space between the speakers is better and more dynamic.

Had this idea to only listen to debut albums yesterday. Started with The Fall's "Live At The Witch Trials" because of course I did. Then went with:
    Faust - Faust
Marina & The Diamonds - The Family Jewels
The House Of Love - The House Of Love (a/k/a Creation)
    Gomez - Bring It On
The Selecter - Too Much Pressure
Eno - Here Come The Warm Jets
Fela Kuti - Fela, Fela, Fela
    Tindersticks - Tindersticks.

A big of Googling then spoiled this as it turns about Kuti had an album with Koola Lobitos that isn't in the box set. Ah well.

How this album never seems to feature in the top 20 all time greats is truly a mystery to me.

Thanks to @Crimson Witch, I discovered that Bottle Of Wine and Come On, React! by 'The Fireballs' originally issued in '68 and '69 respectively, were reissued on compact disc in 1998. I have heard and enjoy the title tracks, but haven't heard the albums, which I will be enjoying today! The Fireballs - Bottle Of Wine / Come On, React!

I just dropped the needle on the Bottle of Wine album from 1968.

    :)

It's a terrific spin, for those special times! I have always recommended this album for fans of `6Os Pop. They were updating their sound at this time , and the result is pure excellence in the performances ,songwriting, arrangements, &production.

Not technically a spin...a digital file, and ironically/ coincidentally, it really was random.

I found a first edition UK mono of the Pretty Things S.F.Sorrow in Sapporo last week. It was "only" $500 which, looking at Discogs availability, wasn't a bad price at all, especially given that it looks and plays like a dream. Under artificial light however, one can see numerous hairline scratches, but it plays right through with nary a tic.

I got home to my non-Japan digs yesterday and that was the first thing I spun. Not even heard S.F.Sorrow before, but after one listen I can hear that I'm in for a treat.
